When it comes to personal computers, custom built is the way to go. You can literally get the same PC for hundred's less than going with a retail manufacturing giant... well, not the "same". Custom builds tend to last longer, provide better security and offer more power "out of the box" than those retail giants. It's like buying original artwork instead of reprints, only it's actually cheaper.

Custom PCs offer top of the line components from companies like Sony, Samsung, Intel, nVidia, Hitachi, and others. You also receive the full version of all the software you purchased, including the real version of your operating system, not some re-worked copy that forces you to re-install all the useless junk software packaged with your retail purchase.

The only true safety net that the retail giants try and hold over a custom build is their "service & support". Don't be fooled by this, it's not free.... in fact, it's probably the most expensive portion of their pricing.
