Hardware
and Software are the two main components of every
personal computer. If you have lots of money and can
afford to just buy a new PC all the time then you
are pretty well set. However, if you don't have that
kind of money to throw around then you may need some
Hardware upgrades after a few years. Hardware
upgrades are the cheapest way you can go to extend
the life of your PC.
The
average usable lifespan of a PC is about 3-5 years
without hardware upgrades. By upgrading your PC
hardware you will nearly double that lifespan.
Upgrading your hardware also helps keep your system
compatible with the newest software. All software
comes with minimum specifications required to
install, such as hard drive space, video card
quality and available memory (RAM).
When
it comes to software we all know how frequent
new versions of our favorite applications hit store
shelves. We'll help you make the right choices for
upgrading or installing software and we'll configure
it to not interfere with your system. Software comes
from many different companies and during the
installation there are a lot of configuration
options that are sometimes deceiving or hidden.
Companies like Microsoft, Apple,
Adobe, Google, Yahoo! and AOL
all wage a secret war on your PC.
Impatico Technology is here for all of your
Hardware and Software needs. We have no affiliation
to big name companies and we won't push unnecessary
hardware or software onto your system. Best of
all, we will configure all your software to do
exactly what it is supposed to do and we'll
eliminate all the excess "fat" that comes with it.
An example of how a big name company can harm
your system:
If you want to download and install iTunes, what
you will end up with is a lot more than you asked
for. By default the installer will also load and
install Apple Quicktime (Media Player), Apple Safari
(Internet Browser) and Apple's Auto-Update software.
During the automated Quicktime installation, it will
be set as your default media player and take over
all file associations. During the Safari
installation, it will attempt to become your default
internet browser and load all of your settings from
your previous browser. Apple's Auto-Update will
become an "always on" service that will randomly
steal resources from your PC to update Apple
products and information (This auto-update is known
to cause PC lock-ups on a regular basis). After all
that is installed, it will continue with the iTunes
installation, at which time iTunes will then take
over any remaining file associations not taken by
Quicktime. You'll also get a unfancy new internet
explorer toolbar (of course it doesn't install it
into the new Safari) and a whole load of new icons
in your system tray, quick launch bar, start menu
icons and desktop icons... yikes, all you wanted to
do was install iTunes. |
